Netent in industry-first Blackjack table, rights to develop slots based on Conan and Ozzy Osbourne
Netent has been in the news over the last few days. First, together with Rank Group, they will be launching an industry-first Blackjack table. They followed up the news by announcing that they have acquired the rights for slots for the barbarian Conan and Ozzy Osbourne.
Netent to launch Perfect Blackjack table
Perfect Blackjack is a new product from Netent and Rank Group which cuts the house edge by 0.5 resulting in a 99.5% return to player. It does this by dealing cards using the basic blackjack strategy. Since players are dealt cards automatically, the pace of the game increases. Perfect Blackjack was recently on display at ICE in London and available for play.
Experienced players will probably appreciate the crisp and smooth mechanics while novices will likely appreciate the strategic dealing of cards.
Netent picks up the licenses to Ozzy Osbourne and Conan branded slots
Ozzy Osbourne is not the first rock-themed slot from Netent. Players more familiar with Netent might be familiar with Guns N’ Roses, Jimi Hendrix and Motörhead. Known as the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy is a songwriter, vocalist, TV reality star and actor. From his days in the heavy metal band Black Sabbath to more recently, he continues to enjoy a wide following.
Conan is based off a number of short stories created in the early 1930’s about a Cimmerian barbarian. Many players may be more familiar with the character of Conan from the 1982 cult classic film Conan the Barbarian followed up by Conan the Destroyer in 1984. The lead role was given to a rising star at the time, Arnold Schwarzenegger. He would reprise the role a year later in Red Sonja. This is not the first time that Netent has adapted a movie or TV series into a slot. If you recall there was also Planet of the Apes, Jumanji and Vikings.
The expect release dates are not yet known but there will undoubtedly be strong interest in both slots.
