This includes some of the biggest such as HDFC Bank, State Bank of India (SBI Bank), Punjab National Bank (PNB), ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank. How UPI works
UPI ↱ is an instant banking method that links your bank account to a virtual payment address and eliminates the need for inputting banking details. It allows you to make payments and ask for cash and will enable you to make a payment by scanning a QR code.
After installing the app, your phone number is automatically registered, so you just need to create a password. You then need to create a virtual address (unique identifier) followed by a mobile PIN (M-PIN) as the app uses 2-factor authentication. You can use more than one UPI address provided that they're linked to different bank accounts.
To send money, you click on the 'Send Money' tab, and enter the virtual ID of the receiver, the amount and enter your PIN. To receive money, you click on the 'Receive/Collect Money' tab, and enter the virtual ID, the amount. The sender will need to validate the validation message and enter the PIN.
The transaction limit is Rs 1 Lakh (1,00,000 rupees) per transaction.

UPI fees ultimately depend on your bank and the service that you use. Using UPI Net Banking may cost you ₹0.50/transaction.
